Uganda striker  Yunus Sentamu has come down with malaria  and will miss The Cranes’ key Group E tie of the 2015 Afcon qualifier at the Stade De Kutgue in Lome on Wednesday, the team  said.

The youthful striker who has helped DR Congo side AS Vita reach the CAF Champions League was hoping could be given chance to play a role in the game but the task now will be left to captain Geoffrey Massa, Brian Umony and Dan Sserunkuma.

Sentamu’s withdrawal came hours after defender Savio Kabugo was also partially ruled out of the game with a knock subject to a late fitness test.

The Cranes, already missing several key players through suspension, including skipper Andy Mwesigwa, are desperate to bounce back from Saturday’s shock defeat by Togo at home that left them second in Group E.

Uganda is second with four points ahead of Guinea who have same number of goals but an inferior goal difference. The Back Stars of Ghana are top with five points with Togo last on three points.
