Speaking to this newspaper in Casablanca Tuesday, Mawejje who gave a good account of himself in 1-0 win over Ghana last weekend said they are hungry for victory on Wednesday.

The Cranes are second in on seven points, while Ghana lead Group E with eight points. Guinea has the same number of points with the Cranes but have an inferior goal difference.

The experienced Iceland based professional referred to the timing suggesting that he thinks this is the time for Uganda to qualify. Mawejje said he has this feeling that they will make it this time and they have to throw in everything they have to make this happen.

Mawejje who scored in Cranes 1-1 away draw in Kumasi against Ghana said that, it still hurts that they failed to qualify for the 2012 and 2013 Afcon events with home games against Kenya and Zambia respectively.

Uganda is the only nation in the Council for East and central African Football Associations (Cecafa) region with a chance to make it to next year’s event to take place in Equatorial Guinea.

Ethiopia and Sudan have failed to impress in the qualifiers, while the likes of Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan and Rwanda all failed to make it to the Group stage.
