The Saints Edge JMC To Go 2 Points Clear

The Saints FC extended their lead at the top of the table by two points with a 2-1 win over Jinja Municipal Council, at Kakindu Stadium, in their FUFA Big League match on Monday evening.
For the high-flying Saints, it was an incredible fifth consecutive league win, while JMC fell to it’s first defeat in five games.
The result means the Saints now enjoy a two point cushion at the top of the table with just Water FC trailing them with 13 points.
It also brings Saints’ tally to 15 points from 5 games in this season’s first round. The first half ended 0-0 with both teams wasting glorious opportunities. The Saints, who were chasing their fifth win on the trot, could have been two up in five minutes but Viane Ssekajugo and Alex Kitata had themselves to blame.

Then Fred Kyambadde’s header was tipped over before JMC fluffed their best chance when they shot directly at Saints keeper Ramathan Male with the minutes running out on a barren first half.
The two goals of the game came courtesy of Ivan Okot’s header which gave the visitors the lead in the 73′ minute before Mathias Wambikamba equalized for the hosts after just six minutes but Viane Sekajugo got Saints their second goal and winner after JMC goalkeeper Musa Lukungu failed to clear the ball.
Their next game is against Sporting United at Namboole on November 16 before we face Water FC at Namboole.
