Striker Yunus Sentamu’s chances of making it for Saturday’s Nations Cup qualifier against Ghana have brightened after the 19-year-old worked out with the team in training session at Namboole today. He twisted his ankle in Tuesday’s session. He had a separate warm up session on Wednesday but participated fully in Thursday’s session closely monitored by by physio Ivan Ssewanyana.

Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic, however is worried the fight to Saturday’s starting line up might cost him some players as seen in training working so hard to impress the Serb now a with just a little above 24 hours to the must-win Nations Cup qualifier against Ghana.

Now the AS Vita striker will have to compete with Gor Mahia forward Daniel Sserunkuma, URA’s Robert Ssentongo for a role alongside talisman Geoffrey Massa.

Meanwhile, Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito is finally in the Cranes camp with just two days to Uganda’s most important qualifier yet. Until today Kizito, was yet to check in and had been reported to be Vietnam for trials with a certain club.

Kizito has featured in all four Cranes qualifying games, and was an important member of the Gor Mahia team that defended Kenyan Premier League (KPL) last weekend.

Uganda host the Black Stars before heading to Morocco to take on Guinea on November 19.
