4 Dead, 24 Injured in Rwandan Church Collapse
Four people have been confirmed dead and 24 others seriously injured in Gahunga, Burerera in the Rwandan Northern Province after the church from where they were worshiping in and celebrating the New year collapsed.
The incident took place at an incomplete Adventist church at around midday.
Rwandan Police has identified the dead as Naphtal Ngarambe (64), Zawadi Tumukunde (9) Pelagie Uwimana (24) and Dorcas Umubyeyi 5 years old.
Others who were injured are now receiving treatment at Ruhengeri Hospital where they were rushed after the incident.
Rwandan Police spokesperson Celestin Twahirwa says that the Police are investigating circumstances surrounding the collapse.
Twahirwa further reveals that apart from the incident on New year, the country registered a relatively peaceful festive season.
