Cop Commits Suicide at Bombo Barracks

Police have recovered the body of an officer believed to have committed suicide by jumping off a three storied building at Bombo police barracks in Luweero.

The police officer Detective AIP Benedict Mugisha (46) was attached to Bombo police station.

Savannah Regional Criminal Investigations Officer Peter Muwonge confirms the incident.

Muwonge says initial investigations suggest that Mugisha committed suicide last night.

Mugisha’s lifeless body was found on the ground, next to the building, this morning.

Mugisha was not dressed in his service uniform. His body did not display signs of serious bleeding.

Witnesses say Mugisha retired to his room, where he lived alone, at about 10pm Tuesday night.

It is not known why he suddenly decided to end his life.
