After numerous murders that plagued the Busoga region in the recent past, police has heightened it vigilance in the region.
The operation that police has been carrying out in this region has led to the arrest of two suspected notorious gangsters.
Police says that the two are connected to the gangs that have terrorised the Busoga districts of Iganga, Namayingo, Mayuge and Bugiri.
The two suspects; Musa Muze who was the gang motorcycle rider in all the dangerous missions carried out and the other is only identified as Afande were arrested in one Mosque in Lira district where they were hiding after the noose of the law got so tight on them in the Busoga area.
Fred Enanga the police spokesperson revealed these arrests during a press conference at the police headquarters in Naguru.
He further said that they have got information that the other suspects are now running to the nearby islands for refuge but the police will do all they can to capture them.
He called upon the general public to give police all the information they might have concerning these people that are threatening the security of the country.
Busoga region has been under attack from unknown terrorists who left many people dead including the LC chairman and two police officers that were part of Justice Faith Mwondah’s security detail.
