Recognized for commitment to quality, leadership, technology and innovation, KCCA Executive Director, Ms. Jennifer Semakula Musisi received the award on behalf of the authority on March 21 at the InterContinental Geneva Convention Hall from the BID Group One President Jose E. Prieto.
“We were awarded for our strong commitment to quality and excellence. And we promise to do everything possible to make KCCA a model service in the region,” Ms. Musisi excitedly told Red Pepper yesterday from Geneva.
“KCCA makes quality a core focus for continuous improvement of management to maintain leadership in its sector and community,” a press release from BID Group One said.
President Prieto added that the award recipients are icons of commitment to leadership, technology and innovation, making them models for others in their sectors.
This year’s International Quality Awards were presented to companies and organizations from 54 countries around the world for their achievements in Quality and Excellence.
The Awards Ceremony was covered in more than 26 publications mainly in English, Russian, Spanish, French and Portuguese, spanning a total of 179 countries.
The award is an addition to many others won by KCCA since Ms. Musisi assumed office in 2011. On April 15, she will be celebrating four years in office and about 27 local and international awards for excellence and turning around the city in her bag.
Some of the awards previously won by KCCA include, the Best Government Agency on Social Media ( 2014) by Digital Impact Awards Africa, Best Quality Leadership Award (2014) by the European Society for Quality Research and the Philadelphia City Award presented by the Mayor of Philadelphia Michael A Nutter in 2012.
