Live Bullets, Stones, Teargas Dominate SC Villa, Express Match

The match between SC Villa and Express at Wankulukuku stadium yesterday evening ended prematurely after fans turned rowdy and violent.

From the word Go, the match was such a glance, compacted and full of accurate passes from either sides with visitors SC Villa dominating the hunt for early goals.

In the 15th minute, Express FC goalkeeper Ivan Mutumba made a spectacular save from Steven Bengo’s killer free-kick.

In the second half, Express FC came out to prove that they are on their home turf with a goal from John Ssemazzi in the 48th minute.

SC Villa goalkeeper Nikolas Ssebwato made numerous saves and kept Sam SSimbwa’s boys in the game though they were trailing.

The 75th minute saw Elisa Ssekisambu missing a clear chance from Abdul Karim who entered after Isaac Muleme was substituted.

Express FC’s Kayiwa Ibra was red carded in the 80th minute and SC Villa netted the equalizer through Elisa Ssekisambu.

With SC Villa’s equalizer, Express FC fans showered the play ground with stones and sticks.

The game was halted and police intervened to calm down the situation by firing live bullets teargas canisters.

During the first leg tie at the Mityana Ssazza Grounds last year, there was chaos and teargas and this saw Villa given three points by the Competitions Committees ruling that Express FC fans were responsible for the abandonment of the match.

In other results table leaders Vipers FC managed to share points with Soana FC after a 1-1 draw, Police FC overcame Bright Stars with a 2-1 win, URA cleared samba with a 1-0 win while SC Victoria University secured an away 1-2 win in a thriller against BUL FC at Kakindu stadium.
