Three street vendors operating near the New taxi park, down town Kampala perished in a fatal accident over the weekend.
Three others were critically injured after a lorry carrying GBK processed milk failed to break and rammed into them on the road side.
An eye witness told Red Pepper online that the vendors met their death after the vehicle registration number UAN 074L belonging to GBK company failed to apply breaks and the driver chose to ram into the traders killing three on spot while three others were rushed to Mulago in critical conditions.
Red Pepper online understands that the dead were crushed beyond recognition.
The deceased whose identities were not known included two women all traders near New Taxi Park and a toddler who was passing by with his mother and two other sibblings. They were also critically injured.
Patrick Onyango the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson attributed the accident to reckless driving by the lorry driver and said that police has started a hunt for the driver who is still on the run.
