Uganda’s Olympic gold medalist Steven Kiprotich was booed and forced to leave the stage during the guild president campaigns at Nkumba University last week.
Kiprotich had gone to Nkumba to campaign for his tribe mate Kiptoo Simon who is standing for guild President at Nkumba University.
Nkumba students did not give him a chance to even say a word as they booed him forcing him to abandon the exercise.
A visibly embarrassed Kiprotich was seen nodding his head in utter disbelief as he stepped off the stage.
Kiptoo Simon, Mpuuga Enock, Kirumira Jonathan, Twesigye Nickson Mulegyenzi Ivan and Walusansa Staford are competing with two ladies Kemirembe Ronah and Nabatanzi Moreen, all promising students bridges where there are no rivers.
However the students who say they were hideously disappointed by the former Guild President Byarugaba have vowed to be extra careful as they make their choice this time round.
Police was deployed heavily as the candidates had their open campaigns. Elections are expected this Saturday.
