Makerere University Kampala continued their dominance Over their affiliate Makerere University Business School (MUBS) when the two blew out their rivalry at the first ever Campus Flood Lights during Tuesday’s Zuku University Basketball (ZUBL) League.
ZUBL’s second edition has been spiced up with the new Tuesday Floodlights action and the first stop to Kampala International University (KIU) main campus in Kansanga and it was all smiles for Uganda’s oldest university with forward Nunda Kiryowa standing out for the Makerere Hurricanes with 14 points while MUBS’ Ives Kalambayi scored a game high 19 points but were not enough to overturn the mouthwatering victory 61-50 for their rivals.
Michael Makiadi (Cavendish) faced off with another a national league big name Sedar Sagamba (St Lawrence), scored 19 and 15 points apiece in a winning effort for Cavendish in what was their third game of the campaign.
In Ndejje, Jonah Otim & Elvis Mutebi’s 20 points guided the hosts to a 51-48 win over foes Nkumba University.
The fast rising tournament commenced last month and has been held for the past weeks and the organisers have revealed that there will be an All starts game between ZUBL men and women (Kenya) and ZUBL Men/women (Uganda) on 8th May a week after the finals of the annual competition.
