Kampala City Council 1-0 Adama City
Captain Tom Masiko was the hero as the versatile attacking midfielder guided Ugandan representatives in the CECAFA Kagame club Championship to a 1-0 win against Ethiopian side Adama City at Karume Stadium in Tanzania on Wednesday.
Matsiko converted a penalty to hand the garbage collectors their first win of the tournament after Striker Derrick Nsibambi was fouled by Yacob Fiseha in the forbidden area.
KCC FC who lost their opening game against Azam FC will be vying for atleast a point in their last encounter against South Sudanese side Malakia FC.
Captain Tom Matsiko revealed that after a 1-0 win over Adama City, the players themselves are confident that they will qualify
“This was the much awaited win. We started the match with pressure on our side well knowing that if results come negative at our side, it was the end of it but after that win, we are back to normal and we are looking forward at winning our last game,” KCCA FC goal hero and captain Tom Masiko remarked.
KCC FC the 1978 cup winners will play against Malakia of South Sudan in their last group game on Saturday and a draw will be enough to seal their quarter final birth.
