“We are not perfect as Police and true there have been weaknesses on our part,” Gen Kayihura said adding; “We understand your anger, am also tired of coming here over deaths.”

He blamed the colonial system for failing Police investigations of Muslim killings, which obstructs investigations

“Presumption of innocent until proven guilty is failing our work. Don’t throw at us missiles.”

Second Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Moses Ali said that government is trying to provide security but he said it will take time to put up cameras since Uganda is not a 1st world country.

Ali’s statement irritated Muslims who booed him and demanded that he sits down for being supportive of the government.

It took intervention of Sheikh Muzaata to calm down thousands of Muslims who were demanding Ali to sit down.

Government contributed Shs10m to the burial of Sheikh Hassan Kirya.

In January this year, police provided bodyguards to Muslim Sheikhs, including Kirya who were reportedly on an assassin hit list but by the time he was shot last night, he had his dropped bodyguard who stays at Kireka Police barracks, a Kampala suburb.
