Revelers at Hotel Africana were left in utter shock when singer Eddy Kenzo appeared, performed and left stage without parading his BET award.
This was at the ‘Mbilo Mbilo’ concert, which was held on Friday evening and attended by a mammoth crowd, though not enough for the award winner.
Fans were overheard wondering why he decided to ditch the award, since he had embarked on a national wide project of showing it off.
The concert was emceed by NTV’s Douglas Lwanga and Airtel’s official MC Daggy Nice who did a fair job, though they didn’t give the concert the hype it deserved.
Amani, Bobi Wine, Gravity Omutujju, King Saha, Rema, Nubian Li and Omi Dimples also entertained the crowd back to back with Kenzo.
Official Airtel ambassador and BET award winner performed his songs like be happy, Sonyiwa, Sitya Loss and Mbilo Mbilo at around 12:13am.
The highlight of the event was the documentary shot about Kenzo’s life, which was played at 09:11PM, leaving everyone sobbing because of how far Kenzo has come from.
In this short film, he revealed how he only attended Primary Three, and jumped straight to Senor One where he felt the pinch before quitting studies.
He somehow disobeyed KCCA orders and performed beyond 12am but hey, the fans were still cheering him.
