President Yoweri Museveni has arrived in the Ethiopian Capital Addis Ababa for a consultative meeting on the IGAD led peace process on South Sudan.
The President, who is in Addis Ababa at the invitation of Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, was received at Bole International Airport by Dr. Fasil Nahum, Minister and Special Adviser to the Prime Minister and members of the Ugandan community in Ethiopia.
Museveni was later joined by Sudan President Omar Al-Bashir for a closed meeting with their host ahead of the consultative plenary meeting tomorrow Sunday August 16th, 2015. It is expected that President Salva Kiir and his rival Riek Machar will attend tomorrows meeting.
IGAD has been struggling to secure a peace deal in the face of deep divisions among warring factions in South Sudan and had pushed for a final deal to be signed on August 17.
