Umar Kasumba’s lonely strike was all that the sixteen time Uganda premier league record league winners, Sports Club Villa  needed to go past a resilient Soana  in yet another build up match played at Villa Park, Nsambya on Tuesday evening.

The Uganda U-23 striker, scored the only goal in of the game during the 6th minute following an elusive blander from new Soana recruit, Muhammed Didi.

Soana FC goalkeeper Mohammed Didi’s failure to deny an Ambrose Kirya’s left flunked cross was enough to pave way for former Police FC goal machine, Umar Kasumba to node a powerful header in an empty net.

Soana’s golden chance came during the second half when brought in Dan Kyambadde had a one on one with SC Villa goal keeper, Samson Kirya, but the later denied him the chance to find the back of the net.

Dan Wagaluka a veteran Cranes winger looked to be a threat from the right wing although many of his crosses went begging and lacked conversion from Soana’s attacking line of experienced Hamis Kitagenda and new recruit Asiku Crespo.
