Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential flag bearer Kizza Besigye has said that he doubts former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi’s commitment to fight the current government.
Besigye said he “absolutely has nothing against anybody who is in the National Resistance Movement (NRM)” or coming from the party to join the opposition forces.
Speaking on NTV On The Sport last night, the three times presidential elections contestant revealed that one misfortune that transpired in The Democratic Alliance as the coalition struggled to agree on a joint candidate is the propaganda of lies.
On Wednesday, the alliance publicly announced that it had failed to unanimously agree on between Kizza Besigye and Amama Mbabazi who should lead it in the coming presidential elections.
In a press statement on Wednesday, the Alliance noted that DP, Go-Forward Pro-Change, PPP, UFA, and UPC have endorsed the candidature of former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi while CP and FDC have endorsed the candidature of Col (Rtd) Dr. Kizza Besigye. JEEMA and PNU remained indifferent.
The alliance will “convene at an appropriate moment to consider the other aspects of TDA work, in respect to continuing to explore unity and cooperation in pursuing the goals and objectives of the Alliance.”
