Centenary Bank, Brussels Airlines Boost Mak Varsity Awards

Slated for October 15th, The Mak Varsity Awards have attracted many big and successful organizations in Uganda to support the event, the latest being Centenary bank and Brussels Airlines.

Unveiling their packages and support to the event last week Mrs. Belinda Sebunya–Sales/Reservations and Marketing Manager, Brussels Airlines announced that her company is willing to provide a return ticket to the project of the year winner to travel to Europe.

Centenary Bank announced their support by handing over UGX5million cheque to the Dean of students Mr. Cyriaco Kabagambe.

Under the theme: ‘Motivate to Inspire’. “Mak Varsity Awards” will see the institution recognize public Personalities, organizations, staff and students with exceptional achievements.

The  project coordinator Paul Mugwanya explained  that the broad criteria for the awards includes  exceptional achievement in any arena, a substantive contribution which has enhanced the reputation of the University, and examples of exceptional achievement by staff include sporting success and leadership of a community project.

“We therefore call upon every student, staff, alumni and the entire public to join us as we rebrand our institution. We are the institution, our predecessors left it and it’s upon us to make them proud wherever they are,” Added the guild president Bala David Bwiruka.

The Academic institution will also award activity which has had a noticeably positive impact for students, staff or the local community as well as an individual achievement or sustained achievement over a period of time.

Exceptional achievement by staff includes sporting success, leadership of a community project, and exceptional service as a school governor among others.

Other key sponsors include; MTN, KCCA, NSSF, Coca-Cola, SMS one, Capital FM, Events Warehouse, Vision Group, Enterprise Uganda, HRN, Enterprise Uganda and University Together Empowering Development (UNITED).
