Besigye Given Land, Roasted Meat In Mukono
Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye yesterday pulled huge crowds in Mukono as he continues to traverse the country canvassing for support ahead of 2016 polls.
As his procession drove through Mukono town, Besigye was given roasted meat by his supporters.
At Ssaza grounds where he held the final rally, an elderly man gave him seven acres of land to construct a home in the area.
He was flanked by party president Gen. Mugisa Muntu, party National Chairman Amb Wasswa Biriggwa, Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, FDC spokesperson Ibrahim Semujju and Mukono Municipality Member of parliament Betty Nambooze who asked resident to vote for Besigye, though she subscribes to Democratic Party that is rallying behind Mbabazi.
Besigye has been receiving financial support from supporters across the country since the commencement campaigns two weeks ago.
On the nomination day, he was given money contributions totaling to Shs2,779,000, $320 (about Shs1 million) and 900 Oman biasa, a sofa set, flowerpots, potted plants, spray pump, pair of slippers, many sets of handkerchiefs, loaves of bread and other various small items.
