Forum for Democratic change (FDC) presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye yesterday said president Museveni is in his evenings as head of state and will not be in office past May next year.
Addressing crowds at Mayor Gardens in Kisoro town yesterday, the now four times presidential candidate promised to fight corruption, saying corrupt officials can steal only up to May next year.
“Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be president up to May next year. The corrupt can only steal up to then. After May, whoever dips his hand in government coffers, his hand will stay in there,” he said.
He said his government will focus on building a modern, robust and versatile infrastructure to speed-up movement of people, goods and services and focusing on empowering different disabled persons to help them leave meaningful lives.
He also promised empowering youths, investing in women, development of sports, entertainment and creative arts “will be given extra attention.”
In Kisoro, Besigye with his team at times had to foot to get to areas where cars could not reach due to impassable roads.
