This was his second rally in Northern Uganda after Monday visit to Arua where he was also welcomed by huge crowds.

While addressing the crowds, Mbabazi promised to bring Northern Uganda to the same level of development as the rest of the country.

“46% of the population here live below the poverty line and the average for this region is 20% so you can see the indifference with the rest of the country. We will bring the north to the same level of development as the rest of the country,” he said.

Mbabazi said his government will give health sector a priority.

“19 or 16 women die during child birth, there are no workers or staff in our health centers and based on this, we will give priority to the health sector to change this.”

He said government will pay workers in the sector to ensure they do their job.

He apologized for the bad thing that happened when he was in government and failure to visit the area when he was the Prime Minister.
