Former Ethics and Integrity Minister Dr. Miria Matembe has said President Museveni is the chief inciter of violence in the ongoing presidential elections campaigns.
Appearing on NBS TV today morning, Matembe said it is the National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters who have been blocking Amama Mbabazi rallies.
“Museveni is the chief inciter of violence. He has even incited me. Ugandans need to protest bad governance, peacefully,” she said.
Matembe questioned why “Why is Museveni going crazy over Mbabazi?” She argued that after Ntungamo Clashes, Museveni is acting like he has never seen women undressed and Besigye dehumanized.
“Anyone who has been following developments is not surprised by Ntungamo Clashes. Women have been addressed et al. Museveni has maximized his violence. The one who causes violence is the government. Before Ntungamo, Mbabazi was blocked in Bushenyi by NRM supporters. In Mbarara, he found an interfering trade fair,” she said.
She argued that “When you push a dog to the wall, it will retaliate by defending itself.”
Matembe’s comment comes a day after police raided home and office of former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi arresting over 30 staff members and supporters.
