Addressing the crowds, he said he came to congratulate President Museveni, the National Resistance Movement and the people of Uganda for the peace and development achieved.

“I stand here to congratulate President Museveni, the National Resistance Movement and the people of Uganda for the peace and development you have attained and implore the youth to know that they have a big stake in this great nation and so they should play their role to protect this peace,” he said, adding “I came here to show that Kenyans stand with Ugandans and I hope you will vote for stability.”

Earlier, he denied claims that he came to Uganda to campaign for Museveni arguing that Museveni has capacity to campaign for himself.

“The power to choose who leads Uganda lies in the hands of Ugandans. Museveni has the capacity to campaign on his own,” he said during a press release at Kapchorwa state lodge, adding “President Museveni has been campaigning in Uganda for a long time. I don’t think he requires the support of Kenyans.”

At the rally Museveni urged Movement supporters and leaders to understand and preach the importance of prioritization in the implementation of government programmes.

He also stressed that since resources are naturally scarce, government programmes have to be implemented in phases in the order of their national importance.
