A total of 286 students obtained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of above the 4.40 to graduate with first class honors at the 66th graduation ceremony of Makerere University that kicked off yesterday.
Among them, 118 are female making up for a percentage of 41% while 168 are male making up for 51%.
Among the courses that had more students obtaining first class include; Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a total number of 15 students.
Others include; Bachelor of Leisure and Hospitality Management- 7, Bachelor of International Business- 12, Bachelor of Human Resource Management- 21, Bachelor of Science Finance- 12, Bachelor of Commerce- 10, Bachelor of Business administration-14 and Bachelor of procurement and supply chain management-8 all from Makerere University Business school.
A total of 2,413 students from college of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT), College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES), College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-security (CoVAB), College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS), and School of Law graduated yesterday.
According to Vice chancellor Prof. John Ddumba Ssentamu, the on-going graduation ceremony that ends on Friday will see a total of 14,318 receive Doctorates, Masters Degrees, Post Graduate Diplomas and Undergraduate qualifications.
Of these 64 will receive Doctorate degrees while 1159 will be awarded with masters degrees.
