Incumbent president Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is in a comfortable lead according to the partial results of the yesterday’s presidential results but Kizza Besigye is eating his percentage.
Museveni is leading with (1,362,961 votes) representing 61.75 per cent, according to provisional results released today morning by Electoral Commission Chairman, Eng Badru Kiggundu while Kizza Besigye is second with (738,628 votes), representing 33.47 per cent of total results.
The first batch of results released at 1am today had put the Museveni in the lead with 63.6 percent but his percentage dwindled to 61.75 percent.
The Independent Go Forward candidate, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi is distant third with 41,291 votes (1.87 per cent).
Abed Bwanika of Peoples Development Party (PDP) has polled 22,180 votes (0.69 per cent).
Independent candidate Prof. Venacious Baryamureeba has 15,260 votes (0.69 per cent).
Ms Maureen Walube Kyalya has 12,742 votes (0.58 per cent).
Maj Gen Benon Biraro of the Farmer’s Party of Uganda (FPU) has polled 7,228 votes (0.33 per cent).
Joseph Mabirizi has so far scored 6,833 votes (0.31 per cent).
And Invalid votes are 116, 804.
These results are from 6,448 polling stations representing 23.02 per cent of 28,010 polling wards in the whole country.
