Opondo yesterday revealed that “government is following and investigating reports that appear to link Gen. David Sejusa aka Tinyefuza to some of these groups, and if found to be true appropriate actions will certainly be taken to curtail and neutralise his activities.”

Appearing on NBS TV, today morning, Mirundi argued that it is army spokesperson that is ought to comment on Sejusa’s arrest.

“Government is blundering. Ofwono Opondo shouldn’t have commented on Gen. Sejusa’s arrest,” Mirundi said, adding, “army spokesperson should have spoken on Gen. Sejusa’s arrest, not Opondo.”

Gen. Sejusa was arrested on Saturday in an operation led by Deputy Chief of Defence Forces of Uganda Lieutenant General Charles Angina who was acting on orders of Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Katumba Wamala.

Currently, Sejusa is being arraigned in General Court Martial in Makindye.

Army sources say he will be charged with many cases including a statement uttered he while in exile in 2013.

Sejusa said Dr Kizza Besigye, won the February 23, 2006 vote with a 69 per cent margin. President Museveni, he said, had managed less than 30 per cent of the ballot but rigged the elections.
