Museveni Promotes 496 Police Officers

President Museveni has promoted four hundred ninety six (496) police officers to various ranks with in the Uganda Police Force, the Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura said yesterday.

In a statement, Kayihura said; president promoted 245 officers from the junior ranks to inspectorate and assistant inspectorate of police to senior ranks of assistant superintendent of police.

According to the statement, five officers were promoted to the rank of assistant inspector general of police, nineteen (19) officers promoted to the rank of senior commissioner of police, thirteen (13) officer promoted to the rank of commissioner of police, thirty (30) officer promoted to the rank of assistant commissioner of police, fifty two (52) officer promoted to the rank of senior superintendent of police, one hundred thirty two officers (132) officers promoted to the rank of superintendent of police and two hundred forty five (245) officer promoted to the rank of assistant superintendent of police.

Kayihura noted that these “promotions will enhance the programme of professionalization and modernization of the Uganda Police forces as well as building effective leadership and management of the forces.”
