President Museveni has said former Intelligence Chief Gen. David Tinyefuza aka Sejusa who is now on remand at Luzira has committed much more serious offences.
Addressing the media on Friday at his home in Rwakitura, Museveni said he did not know the charged that the court martial had put on Sejusa.
“I don’t know what they have charged Tinyefuza with but certainly there are very many offences, including serious ones.” Museveni said. “I will have to read what they have charged him with but I know there are much more serious offences.”
On Sejusa’s retirement which the former Intelligence Chief has been yearning for, Museveni said the army cannot offload a trouble maker to society.
“If someone is misbehaving inside the army with impunity, why then should we offload impunity onto the population?” Museveni queried.
Adding; “If you’re a trouble maker, why should the army offload a troublemaker unto society? When he has been here [army] why don’t you first process him so that by the time he goes back to society he’s a reformed person because we’re responsible for these people.”
Sejusa who is on remand at Luzira Prison until Tuesday when he will again appear before the court martial for bail application was arrested on Sunday last week and charged on Tuesday in Makindye based court martial with a number of cases including participating in partisan political activities, absence without official leave, insubordination among others.
