Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s Kizza Besigye has lauded Dr. Stella Nyanzi, a research fellow at Makerere University Institute of Social Research (MISR) who went on a naked protest today morning in order to regain access to her office.
“Winning by Defiance” Kizza Besigye noted as he tweeted a photo of a jubilant Stella after regaining access to her office.
It took the intervention of Makerere University College of Humanities and Social Sciences Principal Prof. Edward Kirumira to have the office re-opened.
The office was locked on Friday by the institute’s head Prof. Mahmood Mamdani.

After the re-opening, she wondered why the university waited for her to undress before solving the crisis.
“Do I have to first undress myself to get my office back (breaks down in tears)?” she asked.
Dr. Stella Nyanzi is a self-confessed supporter of Dr. Kizza Besigye and she has been criticizing president Museveni and the NRM government in the recent months.
A number of opposition supporters believe that the closure of her office was as result of her political activism in the recent months.
