Today, First lady Janet Kataha Museveni will be inducted into the ministry of education and sports but intriguing are the security measures put in place for her protection.
According to a memo sent to ministry staff last week alerting them to get ready for today’s inauguration, for instance no staff will be allowed to park in the ministry’s parking lot.
“We have been advised that in order ensure security on that day no staff member except ministers and PS/ES will be allowed to park in the parking lot,” the memo reads in part. “You are therefore advised to find parking elsewhere to avoid any inconvenience.”
The memo further noted; “In the same vein staff will not be allowed to enter the building with electronic gadgets namely; mobile phones, pads, laptops, etc. All staff will be expected to deposit those gadgets at the desk that will be manned by security.”
Janet is well-known for her huge security. In August 2015, her security details shocked Kenyans when he travelled to Kenyan Northern Western region of Turkana.
She was attending an annual cultural festival to celebrate the peace and development that is taking shape in the area.
Kenyan Media reported about the entourage; “Forget about US President Barack Obama and his Beasts. This is how Uganda’s first lady Janet Museveni was escorted as she attended the Turkana Cultural Fest.”
