Man. United Star Marcus Rashford Splashes Out On An £800,000 Home For His Mum
Footballer Marcus Rashford has moved his mum into a stunning new home in a leafy village.
The £800,000 house boasts six bedrooms, sumptious bathrooms and a sauna in the garden.
It is just three miles geographically but a million miles in reality from the council estate district of Wythenshawe in Manchester where he grew up.
The Manchester United striker – now earning £25,000 a week at the age of just 18 – always promised to look after single mum Melanie and his family who mean everything to him.
No-nonsense Melanie, who played football with her son when he was a kid, told the Sunday Mirror after he scored on his international debut with England : “Of course I’ll be doing my best to help him stay grounded.
“We are doing a great job as a family to keep his feet on the ground.
“We don’t do champagne and as you can see I’ve just come back from shopping.
“But we are certainly celebrating Marcus’ achievement.”
Marcus is paying £5000-a-month to rent the new home in upmarket Hale in Cheshire, home to many United and City players.
The family’s new home is a stunning modern six bed, four bathroomed detached property arranged over three floors with a hall, dining kitchen, sitting room, lounge, media room, wc, and utility room on the ground floor.
On the first floor is a laundry room, a slit-level master bedroom with dressing area and suite shower room as well as a private balcony staircase to open plan bathroom dressing area with five further bedrooms and three bathrooms.
A large double garage sits under the house while there is a sauna in the corner of the gardens.
But the home is only a temporary measure for the family which includes brothers Dwaine and Dane who have moved in too and whose Mercedes can be seen on the drive.
Marcus is having another £1 million-plus home built at a secret location in the area.
The family’s closeness was revealed after Marcus first explosed on the scene by Dave Horrocks, development officer at Manchester junior club Fletcher Moss Rangers where the player started out as a youngster.
Dave said: “Marcus comes form a lovely family. He is a smashing kid, very humble and so quiet and unassuming.
“He is not a Jack-the-lad type of person. If he ever starts acting bigger than he should be, well his brother Dwain will slap him down”.
