Interdicted Lands Boss runs to the High Court
By Serestino Tusingwire
Interdicted Commissioner for Land Registration in the Ministry of Lands; Sarah Kulata has run to the High Court seeking to halt an investigation into allegations of fraud and corruption against her.
Kulata contends that the said committee is acting on the disputed recommendations contained in a report made by the UNRA commission of inquiry, which commission she accuses of breaching principles of natural justice.
According to Kulata, the same commission first invited her as a witness and then turned around to make a report recommending that she be investigated for fraud in the lands registry.
Kulata has now asked Justice Henriata Wolayo to issue an order blocking the committee instituted by the Lands Minister from investigating her until the High Court determines her case in which she questions the legality of recommendations contained in the UNRA report.
