Leah Kagasa was on Saturday, October 15 2016 crowned Miss Uganda for the year 2016/17 replacing Zahara Nakiyaga.
The grand finale that took place at Kampala Serena Hotel saw Kagasa beat other 20 contestants that were in race.
The 21-year-old from Kabarole district was followed by Kyohairwe Charlotte, a 20 year old from Mbarara district.
Leah had been billed as the favorite right from the onset and she seemed to ride very well on that as an advantage against her fellow contestants and it became more visible with a fine composure during the question-and-answer session.
Leah Kagasa is a student of MUBS and she will therefore represent Uganda at Miss World next year.
“Thank you so much Uganda for believing in me to take this position of leadership as your Miss Uganda 2016/2017. I am exceedingly grateful and believe me, this will be one of the Best years that Miss Uganda has ever had! God Is with us,” Leah posted on her Facebook page.
