Silver Mugisha elected Vice President of International Water Association
The M.D. of NWSC Uganda Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha has been elected Vice President of the Board of the International Water Association (IWA) in Brisbane Australia.
Dr. Silver becomes the first black African to be elected Vice President of IWA which brings together water leaders and professionals from 130 countries worldwide.
IWA works towards a world in which water is managed wisely to satisfy the needs of human activities and ecosystems in an equitable and sustainable way.
Dr. Mugisha has been a board member of IWA since 12- Nov 2014.
Speaking after his election, Dr. Silver said his elevation was a recognition of the transformational work that is going on in the water sector in Uganda and in NWSC in particular.
He promised to continue the innovative solutions based and service oriented style of management that has seen NWSC extend its service footprint from 24 towns in 2014 to 174 towns as at September 2016.
He promised to use his new position to contribute to the progression of water management worldwide by championing a service delivery approach that uses innovation to ensure water for all in an equitable and sustainable way.
