High court in Kampala presided over by Justice Joseph Murangira has today charged Andrew Desh Kananura with murder for the second time.
Desh, his brother Raymond Kananura and 3 other people, while appearing before court this morning denied beating Badru Kateregga to death, his former employee at Panamera bar and restaurant, Naguru in January 2013.
The group first appeared before Justice Masalu Musene in February this year and pleaded not guilty to the charge but the judge excused himself from hearing the case citing bias accusations from the public.
State Attorney’s form in the DPP’s office says that at the commencement of the trial which is 21st this month, they will adduce evidence pinning the accused for taking the law within their hands when they beat Kateregga to death.
The prosecution alleges that on 30th September 2012 at Panamera Bar in Naguru, Desh Kananura and four others unlawfully killed Abdul Katerega an employee of the bar whom they were accusing of stealing of Shs30000 from the bar.
