City businessman Mathew Kanyamunyu and other suspects connected to the murder of child activist Kenneth Akena are expected to appear in court today.
Kanyamunyu and his Burundian girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari are accused of shooting dead Akena at Game store on November 12 and have since then been in police custody.
Apart from Kanyamunyu and girlfriend, his brothers; Joseph Kanyamunyu and Moses Kanyamunyu were also picked by police on Thursday to help with investigations.
According to the law, a suspect is not supposed to be in police cells beyond 48hours before he/she is produced to court for hearing.
However, the Police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi said this happened to Kanyamunyu and co-accused because police were still investigating the case.
Meanwhile, police claims that it has case file ready, though it is alleged that it failed to find the killer gun and no blood spots were found at the crime scene.
