M7 Clears Cranes 2017 AFCON Qualification Bonuses
By Serestino Tusingwire
President Yoweri Museveni yesterday pledged to clear all the bonuses that were promised to be paid to Uganda cranes players after qualifying for the AFCON 2017.
“I will pay all the players’ outstanding bonuses before the match against Congo Brazzaville,” the president promised.
The Cranes have been demanding bonuses including the USD 10,000 promised by the federation for the team’s qualification to the 2017 Africa cup of Nations finals, but the president promised to give each $15000 an equivalent to Shs52m.
The President said the bonuses are part of the Shs3bn budget that FUFA presented to him before Uganda Cranes played Comoros.
Uganda beat Comoros 1-0 on 4th September at Namboole to return to the Finals for the first time in 38 years.
The president is expected to attend the 2018 world cup qualifier game between the Uganda Cranes and Congo Brazzaville scheduled for Saturday 12th at the Mandela national stadium in Namboole.
