Nasasira re-elected to UN body

Former ICT minister Eng. John Nasasira has been re-elected as advisory chairman Smart Sustainable Development Model (SSDM).
SSDM is a UN body under the International Telecommunications Union, whose headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to Uganda Communications Commission, Nasasira was elected during an ongoing International Telecommunications Union 2016 hosted by the government of the Kingdom of Thailand in Bangkok running up to November 17, 2017.
“Former minister ICT, John M Nasasira is the chairman of the second cycle of the Smart Sustainable Development Model Advisory Board,” UCC tweeted.
Nasasira also confirmed the development: “Humbled to be elected chair of 2nd cycle of the SSDM advisory board, I am a firm believer in ICTs as enablers of development.” He was also chair of the first cycle whose term ended in 2015.
