Stop Brutalizing Street Vendors — Kamya Warns KCCA Enforcement Officers
Kampala mister Beti Olive Namisango Kamya has warned KCCA Enforcement Officers to stop brutality mooted on street vendors.
“I have asked the law enforcement people to stop corruption and brutality or else the whip will crack,” said Kamya after meeting the enforcers at City hall yesterday.
Kamya also revealed that some politicians have made it hard for KCCA enforcers to evict the street vendors.
“Some politicians say vendors will not get off the street because they have a right to work. Yes they have the right to work but within the law.”
Last Month, a video showing KCCA enforcement officers brutalizing a woman and her child went viral of social media and as a result, two enforcement officers were suspended.
