Wanted Al-Shabaab Terrorist arrested at Busia border
One of the wanted and suspected terrorist belonging to the Somali based group Al-Shabaab was yesterday arrested by Police at Busia border.
Mohamed Abdi Ali was arrested at the immigration offices as he tried to cross from Kenya to Uganda.
Mohamed Ali Abdi, who holds a Kenyan passport was put on the wanted list by Uganda security in 2014 on claims that he is an Al-Shabaab operative.
On further questioning, Abdi revealed that his destination was not Kampala but South Africa.
He is currently detained in Busia but he will be transferred to Kampala Counter terrorism headquarters for further questioning.
In 2010, Al-Shabaab championed suicide bombings against crowds watching a screening of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final match at two locations in Kampala.
The attacks left 74 dead and 70 injured.
