By Serestino Tusingwire
City businessman Matthew Kanyamunyu, girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari and his brother Joseph Kanyamunyu are set to return to Nakawa magistrates’ court on Tuesday December 6, for hearing of their murder charges.
The trio appeared at the same court on November 22 and were charged with murder in connection to the death of child activist Kenneth Akena who was shot dead at Game Stores on November 12.
After being charged, they were remanded to Luzira maximum prison where they have been for two weeks and will be expected to file their defense against the charges tomorrow.
Prosecution alleges that on November 12 while at Game Stores, Kanyamunyu in company of his girlfriend, allegedly shot Akena whom he accused of scratching his car, and drove him to the hospital where he died from.
His brother Joseph Kanyamunyu is held on condition that the telecom printouts indicated that he was contacted immediately after the incident, which puts him in position to be having some knowledge on the incident.
