The Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere, who was charged with murder and is currently on remand, may have to battle more charges in the next few weeks as it is planned by police.
Police spokesman Andrew Felix Kaweesi on Monday told journalists in Kampala that Omusinga Mumbere faces a range of charges including terrorism, murder, attempted murder, destruction of property and arson.
Kaweesi also explained the discrepancy in the number of casualties from the recent clashes in the Rwenzori region.
He says some of the people who may have escaped the clashes later succumbed to their injuries away from the main theatre of the fight.
It’s worth noting that at the end of November gunfire gutted parts of Kasese as royal guards clashed with security and over 100 people died.
Many others were arrested including the Omusinga who is accused of being the mastermind of the attack.
