Businessman Survives Lynching Over Rapist Demons
Bullets and teargas on Tuesday rocked Kireku village in Bweyogere, Wakiso as police dispersed a crowd of locals that wanted to lynch a city trader whom they accused of allegedly harboring deadly juju in form of demons that rape women.
Kizito Byamukama, who owns a shop and rentals in the Kireku, was accused by residents led by the area Chairperson of allegedly having deadly demons (Amayembe) which have been terrorizing them for a long time.
The Chairperson (Names withheld) accused Byamukama of allegedly sending him the Mayembe to destroy his shop and impoverish him, while the women alleged that the demons have been raping and strangling them.
As a result, the locals contacted specialized witchdoctors, who on going to the place discovered that it was Byamukama who had the Amayembe which were terrorizing the area.
The head witchdoctor and her Aide pulled what they called Amayembe from Byamukama’s compound and shop, something that drove the crowd wild.
The mob started attacking Byamukama to lynch him while others tried to destroy his property, which prompted the police to fire teargas and bullets at them, before whisking away Byamukama. During the scuffle, the Chairperson was shot in the leg by police, while several of the locals sustained injuries.
