MTN Uganda has today officially opened the strategic service centre in Masaka as it
seeks to serve its customers and business community better. Previously, the people of Masaka
and greater Masaka were served by an MTN dealer-shop. There had been the demand by the
community for MTN to open a service centre and these demands have been answered.

The service centre will complement the already existing network of dealerships in the greater
Masaka region. With the new service centre, the people of Rakai, Ssembabule, Kyotera,
Kalisizo, Masaka and Kyazanga among others.

“MTN has been operating in the country for the last 20 years now and has consistently played
the role of connecting Ugandans. When you connect people you must be able to retain them
and also recruit more people. Customer service is an integral part of this and that is why are
constantly improving on this,” said Olivier Prentout, the MTN Uganda Chief Marketing Officer at
the launch of the Service Centre in Masaka.

Adding, “Masaka represents a market we cannot ignore. Its location is strategic as it is a link to
several towns in the greater Masaka area. All these areas we believe were underserved
because we did not have a dedicated Service Centre.”

MTN has a footprint in every region in Uganda, however, some areas continue to grow and
often requires further investment beyond network coverage. Ensuring that customers get after
sale services, discounted products and dedicated customer care is also critical for customer
retention.

The services MTN will offer at the Masaka Service Centre include getting Free SIM cards, Free
SIM swaps and a great deal on the Fero phone at only Shs99,000 plus free a Kirabo bundle.

MTN also has a host of business solutions, under the enterprise business segment that can
enable entrepreneurs to connect with their customers. With the presence of a dedicated MTN
Service Centre, customers are able to walk in and make enquiries about these products. This is
how MTN will partner with businesses for growth.
