Marcus Rashford has committed his future at Manchester United until 2023, signing a new £300,000-per-week contract.

United have moved quickly to tie England international Rashford down for the long-term, and have the option to extend his contract by a further year. Rashford will receive in excess of £200,000-per-week at Old Trafford but bonuses will take his wage up to £300,000.

The talented 21-year-old striker has made 170 appearances for the Premier League giants so far and won 32 caps for England.

On signing his new deal, Rashford said: ‘Manchester United has been everything in my life since I arrived here at the age of seven.’

‘This club has shaped me, both as a player and as a person, so it is such a privilege every time I get the opportunity to wear the shirt.

‘I want to thank Ole and his staff for everything they have done for me; they are the perfect group of coaches to learn from as I continue my development and look to push on to the next level.

‘I will be giving everything I have to help get this club back to where it belongs and deliver the success that our fans deserve.’

Rashford has been at Old Trafford since just seven years of age and he remains at the forefront of United’s plans as they look to usher in a new era under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

During his time in United’s first-team, Rashford has scored 45 goals and created 26 assists for his team-mates.

He also scored England’s opener in the Nations League semi-final against Holland in June before coming off at half-time with an injury.

The England international had previously been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona as he continued to mull over terms on a new deal.

Rashford was entering the final year on his previous deal and United were reportedly keen to extend his contract by a further year to eliminate the possibility of him leaving on a free in 2020.

United’s policy to build around youth is becoming evidently clear following the signings of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who are both 21.

Wan-Bissaka and Rashford will both be involved in United’s pre-season tour of Australia, Singapore and China which starts on July 8.

United are quietly pleased with their transfer business so far and are looking at Sporting Lisbon’s 24-year-old midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff as further recruits.
