Turin, Italy – Blaise Matuidi, a Juventus midfielder has become the second player to test positive for coronavirus in the club.
He comes second after Daniele Rugani, Juve centre-back who tested positive last week.
Juventus released a statement yesterday that their Midfielder has been in voluntary isolation since March 11.”He will continue to be monitored and will follow the same regime. He is well and asymptomatic,” the club statement continued saying.
Blaise joined Juventus in the summer of 2017 and has made 31 appearances this season with a goal and two assists.
All domestic sports activities in Italy have been suspended until April 3rd following the increased cases of the virus among the citizens, mostly sports players.
Italy is ranked the second most heavily affected country by the virus after China.
