Transport in West Nile has been disrupted following the damages on the bridge which connects Moyo to Yumbe and Manibe.

According to a notice released by the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) dated 01 March 2019, the authority has advised the public to use alternative routes following the damages caused by a truck on Jure Bridge.

“The truck has since been removed, but it’s very risky and dangerous to use the bridge”, reads in part a statement from UNRA.

The damage has left hundreds of travelers stranded for fear of their safety.
“We advise Road users to use the Ure_Odravo Yumbe and Iki_lodonga_Yumbe alternative routes in the meantime”.

It said that UNRA is contemplating suspending the usage of the bridge to enable assessment of the damage.

“Our Maintenance team is working to ensure that the bridge is fully restored, and we shall keep you updated on the progress”, said UNRA.
