FAKE! Forensic Report Pokes Holes in Bobi Wine Affidavits

Kampala – Some of the signatures on affidavits sworn in support of Robert Kyagulanyi’s presidential election petition before the Supreme Court are fake, it has
emerged.

Bobi Wine who came second in the presidential polls with 35% against the
winner and incumbent President Yoweri Museveni’s 58%, petitioned the
Supreme Court seeking annulment of the January 14 polls, on grounds that the
polls were not conducted in accordance with the electoral laws.

Bobi Wine filed the case against Yoweri Museveni, the Electoral Commission

She stated that upon receipt of the request, the Forensic Document Examiner
proceeded to the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) to
extract the enrolment documents of the persons named in attachment to the
Solicitor General’s letter.

NIRA, she said, granted the Directorate of Forensic Services, certified copies of
the enrolment forms and photographs bearing the signatures of the purported
authors.

Chelangat noted that they carefully examined the questioned signatures and
then compared them with sample signatures using scientific analytical methods
of VSC 5000 (Video Spectral Comparator), sketching and visual observation
method and observations that are now captured in their report dated 18
February 2021.

I know that the questioned signatures attributed to Nahoniiwe Ham, Akankwasa Edward, Lokii Francis Kiyonga, Namata Ruth, Mugalya Faizo Isanga, Mbabazi Moses and Byamukama Allan are fundamentally different from the sample signatures of Nahoniiwe Ham, Akankwasa Edward, Lokii Francis Kiyonga, Namata Ruth, Mugalya Faizo, Isanga Mbabazi Moses and Byamukama Allan in design and manner of execution of letters and strokes, connecting strokes, commencement and terminal strokes, shapes, structures, loop.

Lokii Francis Kiyonga, Namata Ruth, Mugalya Faizo Isanga, Mbabazi Moses and
Byamukama Allan did not sign the questioned signatures attributed to them,”
she added.

The report could further complicate Bobi’s attempt to challenge Museveni’s reelection.
The development could as well embolden NRM lawyers to question the authenticity of all signatures of affidavits sworn by Bobi’s supporters.

Chelangat also testified that the questioned signatures attributed to Turyamusiima Geoffrey, Batwawula Paul Kizito and Ssebaduka Stephen are not comparable with the same signatures of Turyamusiima Geoffrey, Batwawula

However, Chelangat further testified that some questioned signatures are
significantly similar in design, and therefore, attributed to the people who
signed.

“I know that the sample signatures of Ayebazibwe Milton Alex, Musinguzi Sula
Kato, Owere Eridad, Wafula George and Nkugwa Ashraf Musa and the
questioned signatures attributed to Ayebazibwe Milton Alex, Musinguzi Sula
Kato, Owere Eridad Wafula George and Nkugwa Ashraf Musa are significantly
similar in design and manner of execution of letters of strokes, skill, relative
height and proportions of strokes, slant, alignment, relative length, shape and
the structure among others,” she said.
