FAB-MC: Orthan Tell our leaders who you are please
Orthan Cardain: Orthan Core is a Jamaican born (given name Orthan Cardain Gohagen) I am a free spirited person, someone that is truthful, keeps it real. FAB-MC: What kind of music do you do?
Orthan Cardain: World fusion of reggae dancehall blues afrobeat, Acoustic experimental
FAB-MC: What first got you into music?
Orthan Cardain: The place I was born has a musical richness that it was difficult not to be infected with the vibrations of Nyahbingi drums streets dance to church choirs singing. As I grew I realized how impact full the music I was exposed to was. The message and the creative ways of expressing was something I fell in love with so I started out writing poems and dubbing. So I would say the desire to express my inner feelings and thoughts that often comes from a place beyond words.
FAB-MC: Who inspired you to make music?
Orthan Cardain: Who inspired me? I WOULD say life itself is the biggest inspiration, everyday people,
and situations, my own experience in the way I see life as it unfolds. As musicians that I can think of it’s a long list to mention, from the original wailers to Bobby Wine, Sam cook, John legend, Marvin Gay,Tracy Chapman, Lucky Dube, etc. the list continues.
FAB-MC: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Orthan Cardain: Anywhere between the following Conscious roots, meditative, fun, experimental.Transcending, unconventional.
FAB-MC: Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Orthan Cardain: The list is too long (Tracy Chapman, Lila Ike, Burna boy, Marcus Gad, Bobi Wine for sure.Nas, labyrinth, john legend. Emeli Sande, just to name a few.

FAB-MC: What is the most useless talent you have?
Orthan Cardain: Hahaha Interesting they are all useful. At the moment I feel I could still be a professional cricketer or a coach hehehe what a waste of talent hahaha
FAB-MC: Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
Orthan Cardain: Yeah man it’s a dimension of creativity sometimes. Hahaha
FAB-MC: What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
Orthan Cardain: I would be helping to bring help towards creating a better world for equality. That supports my true liberty. And maybe just a farmer.
FAB-MC: Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have
any upcoming shows?
Orthan Cardain: I have performed in Jamaica, Belgium, Germany, Connecticut USA, Austria, Amsterdam, Switzerland, so far the experiences good. I had two shows in Germany that was terrible because of how the settings in the venue and the low oxygen levels. Yet the best vibes so far was In Switzerland and Jamaica.
FAB-MC: How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
Orthan Cardain: Well, honestly the internet has created easy access to a wide range of music people can listen to music from all over the world with the press of an app button. On the other ear or hand, there is also saturation. The quality and value of pure art and the soul of the music are less. It also leaves a lot of artists under pressure to start to create music just to make a living as the industry becomes more of a competitive field.
FAB-MC: What is your favorite song to perform?
Orthan Cardain: My favorite song at the moment is Mother Earth off the Jungle Treatment Album

FAB-MC: What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
Orthan Cardain: Setting a crass land on fire but no one knew it was me lol seriously though I always see trouble coming so I stay away from it hahaha
FAB-MC: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Orthan Cardain: To follow my heart and gut feeling if I think it’s risky.
FAB-MC: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Orthan Cardain: Remove the explanation notation used toward arts in general, Give artists more resources, money so they don’t have to hustle or be hustled to live.
